# 5.3. Free Proxy

From the Base plan up, Hidemyacc gives you two types of free proxy that you can assign directly to your profiles: **Free Residential** and **Free Hosting**.

> **Note:** These are free proxies, shared with other Hidemyacc users. Free Proxy works well for getting started quickly or for everyday tasks. For important accounts, or when you need a stable, high-quality proxy, we recommend using your own proxy from a provider.

### **1. Free Residential**

Free Residential is a free Residential proxy: your IP comes from a residential network in the country you choose. It is included as monthly data based on your plan and is shared with other Hidemyacc users.

#### 1.1. Data by plan <a href="#data-by-plan" id="data-by-plan"></a>

Mini and Starter plans do not include Free Residential Proxy. Data is counted per account and is not shared with team members.

#### 1.2. How to use it <a href="#how-to-use-it" id="how-to-use-it"></a>

You can use Free Residential in two places: when creating a New Profile and when creating a Quick profile.

**In New Profile**

1. Click **New Profile** and open the **Proxy** tab.
2. Select **Free Proxy**, then **Free Residential**.
3. Choose a country, or **Random (Auto-select Server)**.
4. Click **Create**. The system assigns a random IP in the country you chose.

#### In Quick <a href="#in-quick" id="in-quick"></a>

1. Open **Quick**. In **Proxy List**, click **Add free proxy**.

2. Select the **Free Residential** tab.

3. Tick one or more countries, then click **Add**.

4. Set the number of profiles and click **Start**.

Quick profiles don't save their data when the browser closes. To keep one, convert it into a regular profile.

#### 1.3. How the IP works <a href="#how-the-ip-works" id="how-the-ip-works"></a>

Your IP stays the same for the whole session. When you close and reopen the profile, the IP may change but stays in the same country.

* The system assigns a random IP in the country you choose.
* You can only choose a country. City and region targeting isn't supported.
* Available countries depend on the proxy pool and change as the pool updates. If your country is temporarily unavailable, switch to another one or try again later.

For accounts that need a fixed IP over time, use your own proxy under **Your Proxy**, or buy one from the Proxy Store.

#### 1.4. Tracking and resetting your data <a href="#tracking-and-resetting-your-data" id="tracking-and-resetting-your-data"></a>

The Free Residential Proxy widget on the top bar shows your used and total data. Click it to see your remaining data, the days left until the next reset, and the countries currently available.

### **2. Free Hosting (Datacenter proxy)**

Free Hosting is a free datacenter proxy, shared with other Hidemyacc users. It offers high speed and fast access, and suits tasks that don’t need a residential IP.

**In New Profile**

1. Click **New Profile** and open the **Proxy** tab.
2. Select **Free Proxy**, then **Free Hosting**.
3. Choose a country. The system randomly assigns a proxy to your profile.
4. Click **Create**.
